Quote of the day
vendredi 29 juillet 2011
Hello Again
I have been a terrible blogger but I've also been terribly busy since May, so please, forgive me ahah. Anyway, this month is not gonna be a real pleasure for me, despite I'm on holidays because I had a jaw surgery on Monday. I stayed 4 days at the hospital and came back home yesterday. It hurts very little but I can only "eat" liquid until the twelth of August and there are other drawbacks who got no need to be described... It's driving me crazy. Anyway, annoying now can by synonymous with enjoyable future, I guess, so see you in one month !

Sunday morning
Hello Ladies :)
I hope you're fine, spring is totally EXPLODING here in Provence.
I am currently drinking a tea and I'm going to have a bath as a cure against the hangover due to all the
For the ones interested, I loosed around 2 pounds in twelve days. I feel better, my hair is much healthier and I really enjoy to eat the right food at the right time. But last night I just ate aaalll the wrong things in massive quantity (chocolate cakes, gateaux apéritifs...)(but that's so weird I don't know if you know that too, but at all parties' next morning my stomach is so flat despite all I have eaten which is certainly linked with all the liquid going through my body in a so short period) so next week will probably be a bit a low calories one. Funky time...
I will post a picture of the outfit I wore last night as soon as someone will post one on facebook where I'm not too minable*
My bath is waiting, and I've missed to fall asleep on my keyboard, so goodbye. Have a nice sunday.

The list.
THE ESSENTIALS /Sofia Coppola, film director
1. Acne jeans
Hex black.
2. My SC bag by Louis Vuitton
Navy, small size, I love it for everyday.
3. Prada silk pajamas
4. Charvet shirts
I love ordering shirts there with Anne-Marie Colban. She has great taste and is a perfectionist. I like to have a bunch when I’m shooting so I don’t have to think about what I’m wearing.
5. Louis Vuitton cashmere legging pants
Super indulgent, great for the airplane or whenever you don’t want to get dressed.
6. Brora cashmere socks
7. Alaïa ballet flats
8. Céline classic navy coat
9. Marc Jacobs men’s cashmere sweaters
Crew-neck in navy or light gray.
10. Alexander Wang t -shirt dresses
I like basic ones: white, black or I have a gray with navy stripes.
11. Smythson fuschia Soho diary
I’ve been using these for years; always happy when I get a new one to start the year. I like that you can see the week and have a page for notes next to it.
12. Contax T3 camera
I always try other cameras and come back to this one. I know I should use a digital one, but these pictures always turn out the best.
13. Araks underwear
We used these for the title shot in Lost in Translation, and I’ve been ordering them ever since.

Un jour avec Camille... Chez Azzaro
It's oveeer!! Exams ended, finally, and went well, better than expected I have to say, I'm glad!
As I told you on the last post, Monday, I'll start a diet. I don't want to do anything drastic, even if I have quiet a lot to lose. I first thought about The Dukan diet, which basically consist in eating only proteins for one week progressively add vegetables and all the rest... Advantages ? You loose quickly, about 5 kg-10kg a month. Drawbacks ? You're tired, depressed and if you don't want to regain the weight, all your life you'll have to eat only proteins one day a week. Not so appealing. So I prefered to make my own program which consist in:
avoiding dairy products, pastas, bread, anything fried and chocolate.
drinking a lot of water and tea
try to exercice the more I can.
sleep more
I'll try to hold that for one month at least.Don't worry, we-are-thepeople is not getting the diet-blog direction, I won't post each day what I am eating. It's just one more step towards the wellbeing state I try to aim at. If you have any question/recommendation about it just share, I'm really interested. I leave you there, with this lovely video from Jalouse Magazine with Camille Rowe, very natural, très sublime aussi.

"La vie est un rêve, mais rêver n'est pas vivre. "
I am currently in love with this Girl by Band of Outsiders blouse. It's perfect! Printed but neutral, 100% silk and made in Italy. What could I ask more ? But it's very expensive too, so I guess I won't buy it even if it's pure perfection. (Despite this wise sentence, the little girl inside of me is actually crying...) Otherwise, my maths exam this morning went relatively well, I'm glad. Tomorrow it will be Philosophy and Spanish, hardest part, ugh. I'm really looking forward the end of the week you can't imagine. Oh yeah, and I decided for the thousandth time to start a diet ( yes, almost each sunday I'm like "okay let's eat only salad this week" and of course, on monday we have french fries and ice cream at the cafeteria), because I can't no longer bear my body as it is now. I want to be healthy, shame that French food is So good. Well I have to make an effort for once. I guess that make this effort to restrict myself about food could be compared about avoiding the high street crap you used to buy each week to save in order to buy an Isabel Marant jacket a couple of month later. Not like if I was going to eat once every two month but I'm sure the satisfaction I'll get from being healthy and thin will be much more superior that the one I get when I eat 10 squares of milk chocolate( I know, gross). Furthemore, I'm going to Paris in May so I have to be slim if I don't want to cry in the Isabel Marant's fitting room. See you soon! Maude.

Hi everyone!
I will have to study this weekend, and by studying I mean studying hard. Yes, a big week of tests (every single day until friday fuuuuu ><) is waiting for me. Saturday and Sunday will be essentially composed of books and coffees. I guess I will probably ask my mum to hide my laptop too, I'm feared to be tempted, and then to do nothing....
The thing is.. that I was already planning an after-tests party in my head while I was in the bus this afternoon. Man! Exams haven't even started yet, I'm crazy... I wish I was a nerd sometimes. But I guess I am definitely more a party-kind of girl. Anyway, I hope you guys are fine and will have a nice weekend :)

The evolution of my style icon
It started with Regina the meanest girl in Mean Girl lol which outfits were basicaly composed of pink, minis and Louis Vuitton monograms bag.
Then I had my Gossip Girl period, I had read the books before and was already a fan of Serena's character. So it was logical I succumbed again under her style when the show came out. A few time later, I committed infidelity and fell in love with Jenny's style(here)that I found really cute. That was season 1. She wasn't possessed by the evil yet.
After came three examples which shows I watch too much Tv: -the "parisian" girl in Miss Dior Chérie add (Linchuk ? Sounds french, for sure) that I found and still find completely fascinating. C'est tellement chic* and catchy (the Bardot's song is perfect), and even a French girl like me get carried away by all the Parisian clichés.( By the way I'm pretty disappointed with the new version with Natalie Portman, bad song especially and it's bad acted- even if she is very pretty in it ). Later, in a totally opposite way, I wanted to be Bella (here) It lasted two weeks. I guess it was the time I needed to realise that Edward didn't exist. Ahem. Next! Louise Bourgoin.(here) She was a French television presenter, now an actress. She is soo pretty and I love her sense of humour. Her outfits when she used to present la météo du Grand Journal were perfect.
ALEXA CHUNG. The girl who made me understand that covering your breasts won't make guys keep away from you. Furthemore her style is not always perfect but always looks cool and "patinated" by a vintage vibe. She has always one trend before everyone else and seems not to notice. Yes I love her. She's really the girl who inspire me the most I think.
Last summer has been a time really weird where I didn't know who I was and who I wanted to be. My inspirations just changed day by day. From Lux (here) ( yes it seems I identify easily to pretty blonds...), to Coco Sumner (here)(I'm still in love with her music, a true revelation, but her style is well to boyish for me)
Retro vibe : Françoise Hardy and Aline Weber who is Lois (here) in A single man. She "plays" about 30 seconds in the whole movie (if "plays" implies smoking a cigarette and a close-up on your beautiful eyes. Anyway, this 30s are sticked for my whole life in my memory). Both of them still inspire me.
Elle fanning. Her style in life is genuinely american, in a bad way but she is very young so.. we'll see what wisdom of years will bring to her ;). But I love her style on the red carpet (here) it's always impressively feminine, delicate and well-chosen. I loved Somewhere, too.
The Parisian and Half Parisian gang : Valentine fillol Cordier, Jeanne Damas, Clémence Poesy, Dead Fleurette. They all got impeccable styles, each very personal but with the same élégante décontraction* Their style is the one I try to aim at, which is pretty difficult knowing I live in a small village in the middle of nowhere in Provence where the major part of the population (600 soul, hell yeah...) doesn't know the existence of Isabel Marant and APC. But next year I will be in the city (not Paris but Avignon where there is a street full of my favorite designers including, Sessun Isabel Marant APC, Bash and Vanessa Bruno) Looking forwaaard :).
As a conclusion, like if my text wasn't long enough lol, I think my inspiration evoluated from very fictionnal and polished character to a more real, classy and mature way. This article was made to show how tastes and style change and get confidence with years, just don't be afraid to try and find what you like and what fits you. Have a good weekend, and don't forget to watch the moon it will be at it biggest since 20 years!

Presentation
I created WE ARE THE PEOPLE I think about one year ago and then realised I had anything interesting to post lol. But today, I want to be a part of the Fashion Blogosphere too, because I spend so much time on Garance Dore & co that my mum almost obliged me to create this blog by those words "Stop the contemplation, act now!" So because I'm a perfect lady, I listened her and here I am. I don't pretend that my blog will really bring something different to the blogosphere, which is already just FULL at the moment of girls liking the same things as me like Sofia Coppola, Alexa Chung, Bob Dylan ect... But I still hope you'll enjoy your stay here.
Cheers!
Maude
